we’re loving this glam up north styled shoot on our city blog this week, set in preston, north lancashire at ivory tower, a luxury wedding venue very recently renovated with high quality finishes.
“We wanted to bring together a strong team of talented women to create a MODERN GLAMOUR styled shoot IN AN INDUSTRIAL LUXURY SPACE, which would show off the new venue to its maximum potential.” – says Katie – The Vintage house that could
the shoot was centered around the juxta position of different materials such as the stark concrete of the cake and the sleek copper next to the delicate roses and beautiful detailing on the dresses.
We wanted to show off the features of the venue, so many original areas; they have used contemporary pieces next to the original architecture. I decided to use grey cloths in the dining area to soften the whole mood but lift it with the gold cutlery and vases.
The floral styling used a mix of ‘on trend’ pampas grass, grasses and cotton flower showing that not all bouquets have to be fresh flowers. The addition of the blush pink roses added the romantic element. We keep the styling of the model quite bold, which I think works really well against the strong focal points and darker areas of the venue. The black stationery and seating plan add to the drama against the candlelight and light installations.
