Manchester Hotel Review (Hotel Gotham, Part Two)
DId you read the first half of this weeks blog on hotel gotham? IF not click here for the first half of the blog.
We're carrying on the blog this week with the second half of the review which includes the hotels restaurant.
The Honey restaurant at the hotel, is really nice with windows which have the same views over the city as the club brass bar which is just above it. It was unfortunate for us we were seated at a table next to a wall. The welcome to the restaurant was warm and pleasant by the hostess and i instantly loved the interior of the restaurant.
it was a while later we were asked if we wanted drinks, and I was asked if I wanted the wine menu. Well, this enormous book was handed to me, had I of been a wine connoisseur i would have been in my element there was so many to choose from, it was really quite impressive. But as i'm a Rosé girl i stuck to what i know.
what can I say about the food?? Well put it this way I was still hungry when I left!! I'm clearly not a gourmet food kinda girl, Don’t get me wrong the mains were lovely and tasty we both had the lamb, it really was nice. The deserts were good too, we're both just greedy people and needed more of it!
As for the service, well we were left a little disappointed, it wasn't the best to be honest we were left for long periods of time, when others in the restaurant (only 2 other diners) were tended to a little more attentively. This could have been better, but the waiters were extremely friendly when they did tend to us and the restaurant Sommelier has a quirky way about him and was very kind to our final bill.
Ok, so let’s skip to the morning, I had a wonderful sleep, the beds are super comfy and I didn’t want to get out of it! so, I was happy when I remembered we had ordered breakfast to be delivered to our room!!
9am on the dot a knock at the door, BREAKFAST!!! Yum, I was starving, I couldn’t wait it, it had all sounded delicious! I opted for eggs benedict, hubby went for the full breakfast and we ordered some pastries too! Which was quite lucky as i was a tad disappointed in the size of my eggs benedict, i was hoping for two! (again being greedy HAHA)
It was lovely to have breakfast delivered to our room, as we got to relax in the morning, have breakfast in bed, which lets face it when you have kids is rare!
Not only that, we got to realx in bed for another hour after brekkie, before we had to get ready to check out! urghhhh......i really didn't want to, i wanted to stay snug in this bed all day!
We showered and checked out, we can totally see why couples choose this hotel for their wedding reception, or for photo's it really is amazing! We hope to be back soon!!
WE ARE LOOKING FOR MORE CITY Centre hotels and wedding venues TO REVIEW. IF YOU HAVE SOMEWHERE IN MIND YOU WOULD LIKE US TO CHECK OUT OR YOU WOULD LIKE US TO COME SEE YOUR VENUE THEN GET IN TOUCH! ALSO, IF YOU HAVE A wedding EXPERIENCE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE THEN PLEASE DO. WE WILL NEED GOOD QUALITY PICS.
