Today we are showing the Manchester City Wedding of Alex & Stuart. We know It’s crazy times with this lock down, we have no idea what day it is! WHILST WE KNOW LOTS OF WEDDINGS ARE BEING POSTPONED OR CANCELLED, WE also KNOW ITS IMPORTANT TO STILL CELEBRATE THOSE WHO HAVE GOT MARRIED AND SHARE IN THEIR HAPPINESS.
SO, this week we proudly showing you Alex & Stuarts City wedding. They managed to get married just before lockdown 1.0. It’s a gorgeous wedding and they picked an absolutely stunning city centre wedding venue for their intimate wedding, back in January.
Where did you meet?
wE LOVE ASKING THIS QUESTION, IT’S ALWAYS GREETED WITH A SMILE OR A LAUGH AS WE’RE TOLD THE STORY OF HOW A COUPLE MET.
We first met on a sunny Bank Holiday weekend in Manchester in 2018. I looked across and smiled, I couldn’t believe a guy as handsome as Alex was smiling at me. We didn’t speak that day but Alex soon tracked me down on a dating app and we arranged a date that same week.
Our first date was at Whitworth Art Gallery, followed by a drink, and meal. We quickly knew we had something special, and were soon inseparable.
Where was the wedding?
Our wedding ceremony took place in The Study in Manchester Hall, a beautiful city centre venue, it was followed by a daytime reception and evening party all within the same venue. We had 50 of our closest friends and family in attendance. Everyone was dressed immaculately with tuxedo’s and evening gowns, with the registrar commenting she’d never been to a better dressed wedding.
We walked down the aisle together to the sound of a harpist playing classical love songs. After the ceremony the drinks reception and canapés took place in The Club while we had our photos taken around the building, including on the roof terrace with views of the Manchester skyline
DID YOU HAVE A THEME TO THE WEDDING?
WE WANTED A WELL DRESSED & BLACK TIE, CHIC AND ELEGANT THEME. IT WAS VERY MINIMAL WITH WINTER FOLIAGE MIXED WITH CANDLE LIGHT. THE SOUND OF A HARPIST IN THE BACKGROUND, VERY ROMANTIC.
The wedding breakfast took place in The Gallery around one large, long table. This ensured everyone was included and involved in the celebrations. The table was decorated with black and white linen, and featured candelabra, garlands of winter greenery and white roses.
Dance the night away
After a wonderful three course meal, the guests retired to The Club for tea/coffee while The Gallery was turned into an evening event space for all our guests. we wanted everyone to dance and celebrate, all the while while being entertained by a DJ and three drag queens, who brought tears of laughter to the guests while singing songs everyone could sing along to, we partied until 1am!
